How a training system is operated in the room
A control element is the device at the instructor position that switches a training system: it decides which image appears at which workstation, and it requires no software on the computers in the room.
Four control elements are available, and they do not exclude one another. A touch panel at the instructor position, a system keypad, a tablet over Bluetooth and the serial RS232 interface for an existing AV control system can be combined in one room.
Which element fits is decided by the room. Where a different instructor teaches every day, an interface that shows the seating plan counts; where building services already switch lighting, projector and screen, the serial interface is the shorter route.

Four ways to switch the same room
Every control element switches the same range of functions. They differ in where they sit in the room and in who operates them.
Touch panel
Touchscreen Core and Pro
The seating plan of the room forms the interface on the screen; a tap on a seat switches it. The Pro variant also switches projectors, displays, blinds, lighting and audio DSP.
System keypad
One button per workstation
Each button carries a workstation or a function, and the layout follows the seating plan. The keypad needs no power supply of its own and is available in several sizes.
Tablet
Control over Bluetooth
The iPad connects directly to the installation over Bluetooth and joins no network. The alphadidact app is free of charge; the operator decides how the buttons are arranged and labelled.
RS232
An existing AV control system
The instructor module carries a serial RS232 interface. The command set is supplied documented, so that an AV control system already installed switches the training system as well.

Which control suits this room?
The seating plan, the building services already in place and the number of workstations decide the choice. That can be settled in conversation, before the tender is written.
